OnePlus Z to Launch in India on July 10 with Sub-Rs 25,000 Price Tag, Key Specifications Tipped

OnePlus has long been touted to release the third smartphone alongside the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro called the OnePlus 8 Lite. Later it was reported that the device might be called the OnePlus Z. While it is not clear what the phone will be called but it is being reported that the phone will be announced in India on July 10. It should be noted that the date has been provided by a reliable source however, OnePlus has already pushed its date back for the launch of the phone so it could be possible that this is not the final date.

OnePlus Z: Expected specifications and price

Over time there have been several leaks and renders that have revealed the specifications and design language of the phone. It has been revealed that the device has a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. There will be a punch-hole display just like the OnePlus 8-series but it will be present on the centre as opposed to the top-left. It was earlier believed that the phone will have the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chipset but a new report has revealed that the phone will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset.

In terms of cameras, the phone is touted to have a triple-camera system with a 48MP primary sensor which is supported by a 16MP ultra-wide lens along with a 12MP sensor. The selfie shooter will be a 16MP sensor. Powering the whole setup is likely going to be a 4,000mAh cell with the Warp Charge 30T support. Software-wise the phone will run on Android 10 with the company’s custom OxygenOS skin running on top.

Coming to the price, it has believed that the phone will cost about Rs 24,990 for the starting 6GB variant and it is believed to go up to Rs 30,000 for the 8GB version of the device. At its price, it appears to certainly be a more affordable option that the OnePlus 8. It remains to be seen how competitive OnePlus will price its mid-range device.
