OPPO A12e Listed on Official Website, Specs and Images Suggest It is a Rebranded OPPO A3s

Chinese manufacturer OPPO is reportedly in the works to launch the OPPO A12e smartphone. OPPO A12e has been in the news for quite some time now, but little is known about its specifications and features. Thankfully enough, the device has not been spotted on the official OPPO Vietnam website, which gives us a working clue as to what the specifications of the device are. Notably, the OPPO A12e is a budget smartphone, which shares most of the specifications with the OPPO A3s smartphone, leading us to believe that the OPPO A12e could be a rebranded OPPO A3s. The OPPO A3s smartphone was launched in India back in 2018 and has received several price cuts so far. OPPO A12e: Live Images and Specifications Revealed

The OPPO A12e sports a 6.2-inch HD+ display. Unlike the other entry-level smartphones which are currently available on the market, the OPPO A12e features a pretty wide notch at the top of the display, giving it a very 2018-ish look. Nevertheless, the OPPO A12e is still able to pull off a 19:9 aspect ratio. The device measures 156.2 x 75.6 x 8.2 mm and weighs in at 168 grams.

Under the hood, the OPPO A12e comes equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, which is based on a 14nm process. The chipset is assisted by 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded further with the help of an external SD card. In the software department, the OPPO A12e appears to be running on a much dated ColorOS 5.1 skin, which is based on Android 8 Oreo. This is rather surprising considering the fact that even the entry-level smartphones have been coming up with the latest Android 10 OS out of the box lately.

For optics, the OPPO A12e sports a dual rear camera setup, which includes a 13MP primary lens and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, the OPPO A12e features an 8MP selfie snapper. The primary camera on the device is capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.

Coming to the battery of the device, the OPPO A12e is fueled by a 4,230mAh battery. There is no fast charging support coming up with the OPPO A12e, by the way. Furthermore, the device can be charged over a standard microUSB 2.0 port. Thankfully enough, the OPPO A12e retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. Moving on, there is no fingerprint scanner and you would have to rely on either its facial unlock mechanism or the traditional PIN/pattern/password mechanism to unlock the device.
