OPPO has quietly slashed the prices of three of its smartphones in India. The company has dropped the price of the OPPO F21 Pro, which is a 4G phone. The other two OPPO smartphones belong to the A-series. The OPPO A55 and OPPO A77 have launched a few months ago in India.
The F21 Pro price in India has been dropped a few weeks after the launch of the F21s Pro series. OPPO has slashed the price of its F-series phone by Rs 1,000. The F21s Pro was launched in India for Rs 22,999. However, after the Rs 1,000 discount, the 8GB RAM variant with 128GB of internal storage can be bought for Rs 21,999.
Should You Consider Buying the OPPO F21 Pro?
The OPPO F21 Pro features a 6.43-inch Full HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate support. It has an AMOLED panel with fairly thin bezels around the screen and a hole-punch cutout at the top left corner. The phone also features a Snapdragon 680 SoC and a 4500mAh battery under the hood. It features a 64MP triple-camera setup with a 2MP monochrome sensor and a 2MP macro shooter. The device also supports 33W fast charging.
Even after the discounted price, the F21 Pro does not offer as great value for money. You have plenty of options in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment which offer better performance, a smoother display and a bigger battery. While one should not judge a phone’s camera hardware based on the spec sheet, the F21 Pro does not even feature an ultrawide camera, which is disappointing.
You can look at alternatives such as the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, Realme 9 Pro 5G, Moto G82 5G, POCO X4 Pro 5G, etc. The USP of the F21 Pro is its design. The fibreglass design has a vegan leather rear panel. It is also fairly thin and lightweight at 7.54mm and 175 grams. Other than that, the F21 Pro 4G can be considered only if you want a phone running ColorOS out of the box.

OPPO A55, A77 Price Cut and Should You Buy
The A55 is the most affordable of the three phones that have received a price cut in India. It was launched in India with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage for Rs 15,490. Its 6GB + 128GB storage option was available for Rs 17,490. Following the price revision, customers can buy the 4GB RAM variant for Rs 14,499 and the 6GB RAM variant for Rs 14,999. The OPPO A77 is available in a single 4GB + 128GB storage option for Rs 15,999.
The OPPO A55 features a 6.43-inch HD+ IPS LCD with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. It comes with a MediaTek Helio G35 SoC under the hood and packs a 5000mAh battery. It also supports only 18W fast charging out of the box. There is a dual-camera setup on the back with a 50MP main camera.
The A77, on the other hand, has a larger 6.56-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution and 60Hz refresh rate support. The phone has the same hardware as the A55, except that it supports 33W fast charging out of the box.
The display and the performance unit are two areas where the A55 and A77 fall short. The competition offers better hardware (some with 5G network support) for the price. OPPO’s A-series phones do pack a 5000mAh battery, which is at par with the competition’s offering. Consider buying the POCO M4 Pro 5G, Realme 9 5G, iQOO Z6 44W, iQOO Z6 Lite 5G, etc.
