A week ago, Oppo A55s renders leaked ahead of its launch, and it was spotted on Geekbench, Bluetooth SIG and FCC database. The leaked renders revealed the dual-camera setup on the back of the phone, and the listing on Geekbench revealed its model number CPH2309, along with some details like 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 480 5G SoC from Qualcomm and Android 11. The phone has been officially launched in Japan, and it is expected to arrive in other markets in South Asia soon. It is a 5G phone and the latest offering from Oppo in Japan in a while. However, the phone will go for sale starting next week.

For the first time, Oppo has provided some sort of dust and water protection on an A-series phone as the Oppo A55s seems to have an IP rating, but we’re not aware of the exact rating criteria yet. Some sources say it’s IPX8／IP6X. The phone runs Android 11 out of the box with Oppo’s own ColorOS 11 skin on top. The phone packs a 4000mAh battery with support for up to 18W fast charging. In terms of connectivity options, the Oppo A55s offers Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, 4G with VoLTE and, of course, 5G. The phone also provides a USB-C port for charging and data transfer alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack.
