In a report published last week, we at MySmartPrice brought to you the complete spec sheet of OPPO’s upcoming A5s budget Android smartphone. The smartphone has now been certified by India’s BIS and Thailand’s NBTC certification agencies. It should be noted that the smartphone was also spotted on Russian EEC and Indonesian TKDN certification websites earlier this year.
OPPO A5s to Launch in India Soon?
While the OPPO A5s has been spotted on EEC and TKDN websites previously with the model number CPH1909, NBTC is the first agency to actually confirm that it is actually the A5s. Apart from confirming the marketing name of the smartphone, however, the NBTC certification does not confirm any other key detail. India’s BIS certification agency, on the other hand, only lists the model number of the smartphone. Now that the smartphone has been granted certification by quite a few agencies, we can expect it to be made official soon. The BIS certification also confirms that the smartphone will be arriving in India as well.
The OPPO A5s will come with a 6.2-inch LCD display featuring a waterdrop notch at the top and 720 x 1520 HD+ resolution. It will run on a MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor, which is built on a 12nm manufacturing process. The Helio P35 chipset on the A5s will be clubbed with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Further storage expansion up to 256GB will be supported as well, thanks to a dedicated microSD card slot. Moving on to optics, the OPPO A5s will sport a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the rear and an 8MP selfie shooter on the front. Fueling the budget Android smartphone will be a 4230mAh capacity non-removable battery. In terms of software, the handset will be shipped with the Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 out of the box instead of the newer ColorOS 6.0.
