Every year, there are a number of devices that manage to hijack the rumour mill with their continued presence and this year too we’ve seen a few of them. The Pixel 3 leak saga is right up there in the records and it has been surely the highest leaked Pixel line in history. And then there’s the Mate 20 Pro as well but there’s one more device which won’t draw your attention as easily but it has been around the rumour mill long enough to reveal everything about itself. We’re referring to the OPPO A7 here. A close relative to the recently announced OPPO A7x, the OPPO A7 will be official this month in China. However, we doubt OPPO will be able to surprise us as specifications, renders, and prices have all leaked earlier. Today, some more posters and renders have appeared online revealing a little more info with regards to colour options.
OPPO A7 New Renders Reveal New Colours
Remember the Vivo X23 Star Edition, well OPPO seems to have pulled out a page from its sister company owned by BBK and used a similar design on the rear of the device. As can be seen in the renders, there are two colour variants – Glaring Gold and Blazing Blue. Both are graced with vertical stripes that create a distinct look from a plain glossy back we’re used to seeing on handsets. The stripes will probably be beneath the glass layer of the OPPO A7, as far as we can judge from the renders. One thing’s for sure, Chinese phone makers this year have experimented with all types of colours and designs far more than any other time before. Just to name a few, the gradient colour design started to be all the rage this year and the sparkling back finish effect created by Vivo on the V11 Pro is also a stunner.
Beyond the new renders, the OPPO A7 is a very familiar device as we have pointed out earlier. It is a rebranded Realme 2 for China with just one tiny little difference in the notch. The OPPO A7 features the miniature water drop notch design and also an improved selfie camera. The Realme 2 had an 8MP shooter while the OPPO A7 is believed to house a single 16MP shooter on the front, as far as leaked specifications have pointed out. Considering this is a toned-down version of the OPPO A7x, the front camera detail is a bit dodgy and should be taken with a pinch of salt. For more specs info, refer to our previous article here.
OPPO A7 Leaked Specifications
We exclusively reported the leaked specs of the handset back in September. That info mostly remains intact still as there have been no conflicting leaks regarding the hardware. Hence, the OPPO A7 is likely to rock an octa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 SoC with an Adreno 506 GPU, a 6.2-inch (1520 x 720 pixels) 18:9 FullView 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and a 4230mAh battery. Furthermore, leaked info suggests two variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage / 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and Color OS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The handset also has a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. As far as the camera is concerned, the rear setup is similar to the Realme 2 as leaks have suggested a 13MP sensor with LED flash + 2MP depth sensor.
OPPO A7 Leaked Pricing
Leaked info has hinted at a price tag of CNY 1599 (approx. INR 16,885) in China. The handset is expected to launch on November 13th in the country.
