In terms of pricing, the device directly competes with the previously launched Oppo A7 and Vivo V9 Pro. The Oppo A7 comes with a large 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1520 pixels resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and 271 ppi pixel density. The device boasts a screen-to-body-ratio of 81.6 percent thanks to the water-drop notch and thin bezels. For an added protection, the device comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Vivo Y95 also share similar design ideology with a tear-drop notch on the front and a gradient back giving it a premium look. It also features a large 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1520 pixels resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and 270 ppi pixel density. The Y95 has a screen-to-body-ratio of 82.9 percent.
Vivo V9 Pro, on the other hand, features a traditional notch and looks like any other budget device. It sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2280 pixels resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and 400 ppi pixel density. The device has a screen-to-body ratio of 84.9 percent.
Clearly, Vivo V9 Pro takes a lead owing to higher resolution, pixels density and surprisingly higher screen-to-body ratio. If you care about design more, then Oppo A7 and Vivo Y95 might interest you.
Oppo A7 vs Vivo Y95 vs Vivo V9 Pro: Hardware, Performance
The Oppo A7 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset paired with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB onboard memory. The Snapdragon 450 is an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and fabricated over the 14nm manufacturing process.
The Vivo Y95 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Snapdragon 439, on the other hand, is made over the 12nm process but has a lower clock speed.
Vivo V9 Pro packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 660 is made over the 14nm manufacturing process. It has a 12.2% faster clock speed than the Snapdragon 450.
If you’re looking for a powerful smartphone which can handle heavy tasks with ease, the Vivo V9 Pro would be a much better choice since it has a higher RAM capacity and comes with a powerful chipset.
Oppo A7 vs Vivo Y95 vs Vivo V9 Pro: Camera Setup
Oppo A7 has a dual camera setup with 13MP (f/2.2 aperture) primary sensor and a 2MP (f/2.4 aperture) secondary sensor. For selfies, the device has a 16MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture.
Vivo Y95 has the same dual rear camera as that of Oppo A7. It also features 13MP and 2MP sensor with even same aperture. The front of the device, on the other hand, has a 20MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
Surprisingly, Vivo V9 Pro also features the same 13MP+2MP dual camera setup at the back but with an aperture of f/2.0. It has a 16MP selfie shooter again with f/2.0 aperture.
While all three smartphones flaunt the same rear camera setup, you might be able to get a little bit better performance on Vivo V9 Pro. Although the difference will not be that big of a deal. As far as the selfies are concerned, Vivo Y95 has clearly taken the edge with its high 20MP sensor.

The Oppo A7 is fueled by a large 4,230mAh battery and runs on the latest version of its Color OS 5.2 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. Vivo Y95 is powered by a 4,030mAh battery and runs on the latest version of its FunTouch OS 4.5 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. The Vivo V9 Pro, on the other hand, has a smaller 3,260mAh battery with same software configuration as that of Vivo Y95.

Oppo A7 is available on both the popular e-commerce Flipkart and Amazon for a price tag of INR 16,990. It comes in two colour variants: Glaring Gold and Glaze Blue. At the time of writing this post, the device is available with 5% discount offer on HDFC cards. Vivo Y95 also comes with the same price tag of INR 16,990 and also comes in two colour variant: Starry Night and Nebula Purple. Vivo V9 Pro, on the other hand, will set you back a tad higher INR 17,990. But for that extra INR 1,000, you’re getting a powerful processor, 6GB of RAM and overall decent specifications.
Oppo A7 vs Vivo Y95 vs Vivo V9 Pro: Verdict
Both Oppo A7 and Vivo Y95 share similar design ideology, similar specifications and even the same price tag. They both have a tear-drop notch, fewer bezels and looks somewhat premium. Even though Vivo V9 Pro is not the latest device, it still manages to beat the other two in terms of performance. When it comes to price for value among these three devices, Vivo V9 Pro seems like a better option.
