OPPO is likely to launch a new A-series smartphone soon in various markets. The company might launch a new 4G smartphone in the form of the OPPO A78. The device will likely be a budget smartphone offering, featuring a beefy battery, a fairly tall display and a Qualcomm SoC. OPPO has not confirmed any details about the launch of the A78. Meanwhile, design renders of the upcoming OPPO smartphone have leaked online. The report by 91Mobiles Hindi, citing tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, has revealed the two colour options of the A78 4G.
The same report has also revealed the key specifications of the device. Let’s take a look at the OPPO A78 4G specifications, features and design details revealed so far.
OPPO A78 4G: Design Renders and Specifications
The OPPO A78 4G will be one of the upcoming budget smartphones from the company. The device might launch soon in various markets, including India. Ahead of the official launch, a new report by 91Mobiles Hindi has revealed the design of the phone. The A78 4G has a flat frame design.
The phone is said to feature a metal unibody design. It has a pill-shaped cutout that houses two circular cutouts for the dual-camera setup and an LED flash. On the left edge, there is the volume rocker, whereas the right edge has the power button. The A78 4G has a Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, the primary speaker grille and a microphone cutout at the bottom edge.
In terms of dimensions, the phone is said to measure 160.1 x 73.2 x 7.93mm and weigh about 180 grams.
The report revealed that the A78 4G will launch in Black and Mint Green colours. In terms of hardware, the A78 4G has an AMOLED display. The screen has a tiny hole-punch cutout at the top left corner for the front camera. While the side bezels are fairly thin, the chin bezel is quite thick in comparison.
The A78 4G will sport a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with support for a 90Hz refresh rate, according to the report. It will offer a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and also have a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Under the hood, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, which is a 4G processor. The device is said to launch with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. We can expect OPPO to offer support for storage expansion via a microSD card.
On the back, there is a dual-camera setup. The phone is said to feature a 50MP main camera sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. There will also be a 2MP secondary sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
For selfies, there will be an 8MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The phone is also said to pack a 5000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging support out of the box.
The report also revealed that the device will offer an IP54 rating along with support for Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, etc. We can expect the A78 4G to boot Android 13 out of the box and feature ColorOS 13.1 on top.
