The OPPO A78 5G is said to launch in India on January 16. It will debut with a single storage option, which will offer 8GB of RAM. The phone will come with 128GB of internal storage. The device will also support 8GB of virtual RAM on top of the actual 8GB of physical RAM.
Reports claim that the phone will have a launch price of Rs 18,999 in India. It will launch in Glowing Blue and Glowing Black colours. The device will go on sale very soon following its launch in India. According to reoorts, the A78 5G will be available for purchase from January 18.
The leaked spec sheet suggests that the phone could carry the same specs found in the global variant.
This means that the A78 5G will sport a 6.54-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1612 × 720 pixels. For a phone that is tipped to cost Rs 18,999m, it is odd to see the display only offers an HD+ resolution, especially when the completion offers Full HD+ AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. The A78 5G will come with a 90Hz panel.
The phone has a waterdrop notch at the top for the front camera. On the back, there are two large circular cutouts. The device comes with a dual-camera setup on the back. It has a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera.
The phone weighs about 188 grams and is 7.99mm thick. It packs a 5000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging out of the box. The phone will boot on the latest Android 13 and have a layer of ColorOS 13.0 on top. It draws power from a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, which is an entry-level 5G processor.
