OPPO is gearing up for the launch of a new A-series smartphone. The company will launch the OPPO A97 5G soon. As the name suggests, the A97 will come with 5G network support. The exact launch date of the device is unknown. Meanwhile, specifications and design details of the A97 5G have leaked online.

OPPO A97 5G will launch as a successor of the A96, which was launched in China and some other markets earlier this year. The China Telecom listing reveals that the phone will sport a dual-camera setup on the back. While the camera module has a glossy finish, the area around it has a matte layer. The camera module features two large circular cutouts, one of which houses the 48MP main camera. The other cutout houses the 2MP secondary sensor and the LED flash. For selfies, there will be an 8MP front camera.

The flat frame’s left side houses the volume buttons and the SIM tray, whereas the right edge has the power button. At the bottom edge are the 3.5mm headphone jack, the USB Type-C port and the speaker grille.

The device sports a 6.56-inch display and is likely to offer a Full HD+ resolution. The device will also come with a 5000 mAh battery under the hood. It will measure 163.8×75.1×7.99mm and weigh about 190 grams.

The OPPO smartphone will launch in two storage options – 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB. It will launch in three colours – Quiet night black, deep sea blue and colourful cherry blossom.
