OPPO might end the year with the launch of multiple smartphones. The company is rumoured to launch the Reno 9 series soon in China. It is also expected to launch new foldable phones called the OPPO Find N2 and the Find Flip. While these are quite premium offerings that are expected to launch soon, OPPO might also launch a new mid-range smartphone in select markets. The OPPO A98 5G launch is imminent.

OPPO has not confirmed any details about the launch. However, the phone has been spotted on the Geekbench website. The listing on Geekbench confirms some of the key specifications of the upcoming OPPO smartphone. Let’s take a look at the OPPO A98 5G specifications, features and other details.

OPPO A98 5G Geekbench

The OPPO A98 5G has been spotted on the Geekbench website with the model number PHQ110. It is expected to debut soon in China and other markets. The Geekbench listing reveals that the phone draws power from a Snapdragon 695 SoC. It is paired with an Adreno 619 GPU. The SoC has a peak clock speed of 2.21GHz. It has six efficiency cores, which are clocked at 1.8GHz.

The variant listed on Geekbench has 8GB of RAM. We can expect OPPO to launch the phone with more RAM and storage options. The Geekbench listing also reveals that the A98 5G runs Android 13 out of the box. It will have a layer of ColorOS 13 on top of Android.

The A-series OPPO smartphone scored 687 and 2066 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests. Other details of the A98 5G have leaked in the past. Tipster Evan Blass uploaded the design render of the A98 5G, which is likely to launch as the A1 Pro 5G in select markets. It is worth noting that we mistook the A98 5G as another OPPO smartphone on Geekbench, which has the model number PGW110. Blass claims that the A98 5G has the model number PHQ110.

The design image uploaded by the tipster revealed the rear panel design. It has two large circular cutouts on the back, which house a triple-camera setup and an LED flash. Below the camera cutouts runs a glossy strip, whereas the rest of the rear panel seems to have a gradient back. The image also confirms that the phone will have a curved rear panel as opposed to many phones launched in 2022 which sport a flat back.

Other details of the A98 5G are unknown at the moment. We will share more details as and when available.
