OPPO is gearing up for the launch of a new mid-range smartphone. The company is likely to refresh its A series lineup soon with the launch of the A98 5G. OPPO has not confirmed any details about the phone’s launch date. However, the global launch of the A98 5G seems imminent as it has been spotted on the Geekbench website. The listing on Geekbench confirms the key specifications of the upcoming OPPO smartphone. OPPO A98 5G will feature a Qualcomm chipset under the hood.

OPPO A98 5G Geekbench Listing Confirms Key Specs
The upcoming OPPO A98 5G is expected to launch very soon. It has been spotted on the Geekbench website with the model number CPH2529. According to the listing on Geekbench, the A98 5G draws power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC under the hood. The chip has a peak clock speed of 2.21GHz. It has two performance cores with the said frequency along with six efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
The variant of the A98 5G listed on Geekbench has 8GB of RAM. We can expect the phone to launch with 128GB of storage. The device can be seen running Android 13 out of the box. It will have a layer of ColorOS 13 on top of Android. The OPPO A98 5G scored 885 and 2034 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests.
In addition to these details, some key specs of the A98 5G have leaked in the past. The phone’s front design render has leaked, revealing a hole-punch cutout at the top centre of the display. There is a slightly thick chin bezel.
The phone is said to sport a tall 6.7-inch LTPS LCD panel. It will have a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and 391 PPI pixel density. The display will have a layer of Panda Glass for added protection against drops and scratches. It will also offer support for a 120Hz refresh rate.
The device will come with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. On the back, there will be a triple-camera setup. The phone will feature a 64MP main camera with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). There will also be a 2MP depth sensor, a 2MP macro sensor and an LED flash. For selfies, the A98 5G will feature a 32MP front camera sensor.
The device is likely to pack a beefy 5000mAh battery. It will offer support for 67W SuperVOOC fast charging out of the box. For biometrics, the phone will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It will also have a microSD card slot, an IPX4 rating for basic water resistance, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. The device is said to measure about 165.6 x 76.1 x 8.2mm and weigh around 192 grams.
