The news surrounding the launch of the OPPO Ace 2 smartphone has been there for quite a while now. The OPPO Ace 2, which was earlier being speculated to be dubbed the OPPO Reno Ace 2, has previously been spotted on the Chinese TENAA certification website, which has already revealed a lot of its key specifications and features. After that, the unofficial renders of the device were also leaked, which gave us a clue as to what the OPPO Ace 2 would look like. Now, the launch date of the device has also been confirmed – April 13. Take a look at what we know about the OPPO Ace 2 smartphone so far.
OPPO Ace 2: Launch Date and Key Specifications
Earlier today, Brian Shen revealed the official launch date of the OPPO Ace 2 on his Weibo handle. As per Brian’s post, the OPPO Ace 2 will launch in China on April 13, 2020. Other than revealing the launch date, Shen did not reveal anything else about the device. That being said, we already have a working clue about some of its specifications.
The OPPO Ace 2 will sport a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. The display of the device will feature a single punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, which will be located in the top left corner of the device’s display. Speaking of cameras, the OPPO Ace 2 will feature a quadruple rear camera setup at the back, which will be encased in a circular module. On the right-hand-side of the camera module, there will be an LED flash. The device will measure 160 x 75.4 x 8.6 mm and weigh in at 185 grams.

Under the hood, the OPPO Ace 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G mobile platform, which will be assisted by 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of onboard storage. It is unclear as to whether or not the OPPO Ace 2 will have scope for further expansion. In the software department, the OPPO Ace 2 will ship with the latest Android 10 OS out of the box with the company’s proprietary ColorOS 7 skin baked on top of it.
Coming to the battery of the device, the OPPO Ace 2 will be fueled by a 1,955mAh battery (there will most likely be two such batteries). The battery of the device will have scope for up to 65W of fast charging.
