The Oppo Enco Buds have been officially launched in India. The budget true wireless earbuds were introduced globally prior to being launched in India, and come to an increasingly crowded budget audio category that has competitors from Redmi, Realme, OnePlus and others. As part of its key features, the Oppo Enco Buds offer 80ms low latency mode for gaming, AI powered in-call ambient noise cancellation, and cumulative battery life of 24 hours, among others.
Oppo Enco Buds: price and availability
The Oppo Enco Buds will go up for sale from September 14, and will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The earbuds are priced at Rs 1,999, and between September 14 and 16, will be sold at a special launch price of Rs 1,799. This makes it one of the most affordable pair of true wireless earbuds in India.
The Oppo Enco Buds are powered by 8mm dynamic drivers, and feature a two-layer composite diaphragm. It also supports the AAC codec for audio delivery, and supports Bluetooth 5.2 for its connectivity standard. This, Oppo claims, enables stable connectivity of up to 10 metres (33 feet), and also 80ms low latency mode in its audio delivery. The latter can be activated by tapping the earbuds three times, and on paper, is better than the low latency mode offered by fellow budget earbuds such as the Realme Buds Air 2, and the new Redmi Earbuds 3 Pro.
However, it does not feature active noise cancellation. Instead, Oppo claims that it will offer an AI driven in-call noise attenuation feature to improve call audio quality. The earbuds support touch controls to adjust playback, and also support Oppo’s Hey Melody companion app for adjusting the audio and playback quality.
In terms of battery life, the Enco Buds offer 24 hours cumulative playback time including the charging case. The earbuds offer six hours of playback on full charge, and the earbuds and the charging case together take 2.5 hours to charge to full.
