OPPO has launched its new line of foldable smartphones in China. At the OPPO Inno Day 2022, the Chinese smartphone giant launched the Find N2 and Find N2 Flip. The Find N2 is a successor to the original Find N launched last year. The company has made several improvements in its new premium foldable smartphone. It now comes with a brighter display with an improved hinge design, a faster SoC and more. The OPPO Find N2 Flip, on the other hand, is a clamshell foldable smartphone, which will rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
OPPO is expected to launch the new foldable smartphones in more markets. The company has confirmed that its latest and greatest foldable smartphones are headed for the global markets. Let’s take a look at the OPPO Find N2, Find N2 Flip specifications, features and other details.
OPPO Find N2, Find N2 Flip Launched
OPPO has launched the Find N2 series in China. The company has confirmed that its new foldable phones will debut in more markets. This means that Samsung will finally have some competition in the premium foldable smartphone market worldwide. The South Korean tech giant has been a popular leader in the foldable smartphone segment. However, when it comes to innovation generation-over-generation, Samsung seems to have taken its foot off the peddle a bit. With OPPO entering the global market, Samsung might be forced to take more aggressive steps in terms of innovation to maintain its global dominance in the foldable smartphone segment.
The OPPO Find N2 Flip is the more affordable foldable phone of the two. The Find N2 Flip has a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC under the hood. It comes with a 4300mAh battery as well, which is significantly bigger than the arch-rival Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
The Find N2 Flip also sports a bigger outer display than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. The outer display is 3.26 inches tall. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a 1.9-inch screen. The taller aspect ratio also makes the Find N2 Flip’s outer display an ideal viewfinder to click selfies using the rear camera. The phone has a dual-camera setup on the back. There is a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera.
OPPO has also revealed that the Find N2 Flip packs a 4300mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. The company has launched the phone in black, gold and purple colour options. OPPO is yet to reveal all the details but the rumour mill claimed that the phone will sport a 6.8-inch 120Hz OLED display. The device is also said to feature a 32MP front camera.
Moving on to the Find N2, the bigger foldable phone has a 7.1-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with 1550 nits of peak brightness and HDR10+ certification. The outer screen, which is 5.54 inches tall, also comes with fairly thin bezels. There is a hole-punch cutout on both displays for the 32MP front camera.
Under the hood, there is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The foldable phone packs a 4520mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging out of the box. There is a triple-camera setup on the back. The phone has a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP telephoto camera.
Both smartphones come with OPPO’s MariSilicon X NPU. The devices also get a new Flexion Hinge, which is claimed to improve the display experience with lesser crease visibility. The Find N2 weighs only 233g, making it lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Coming to the pricing, the Find N2 has been launched in China with two storage options — 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB. The two storage options are priced at CNY 7999 (roughly Rs 95,000) and CNY 8999 (roughly Rs 1,06,900). The Find N2 Flip arrives in three storage options — 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB. These variants will be available for CNY 5999 (roughly Rs 71,200), CNY 6399 (roughly Rs 76,000) and CNY 6999 (roughly Rs 83,100).
More details about the pricing and availability for various regions will be announced in the coming weeks. OPPO is yet to confirm if its new foldable phones are coming to India sometime next year.
