Last month, Oppo announced the K1 smartphone that was the first entrant in its new K-series. The Oppo K1 featured an In-display fingerprint sensor, which made up for one of its highlights. Although it’s been more than a month since the phone has been on sale in China, the company has now launched another color variant for it. The phone is now available in Silver Green color option. The gradient design looks quite tremendous and in-sync with the latest trends that are being followed by major OEMs.

Oppo K1 Now Available in Silver Green Variant

The latest Silver Green gradient color variant will retail at the same price as the color variants of the Oppo K1. To recall, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the K1 was launched at CNY 1,599 (approx. INR 17,100) and CNY 1,799 (approx. INR 19,300). The other color options available for the phone are Mocha Red and Van Gogh Blue, both in gradient finish.

Gradient finish on the back is basically positioning of two colors in a linear order. The gradient finish enables brushstroke effect that changes colors from one end to another depending on the viewing angle. Many OEMs have recently pick up on this trend, right from Oppo to Vivo, we have seen smartphones coming in gradient color variants. We think that this design trend is here to stay as it gives a premium finish even to the non-flagship devices.

In-display Fingerprint Sensors Are Trending

As we mentioned in the beginning, one of the highlights of the phone is its In-display fingerprint sensor. We can call it another smartphone trend after notch. Recently, OEMs like OnePlus have also embraced the In-display technology for its flagship OnePlus 6T. To recall, Vivo was among the first OEMs to launch a phone with In-display fingerprint sensor instead of a physical one on the back. Even upcoming phones are being teased with this new feature, which means that pretty soon we may witness the departure of the physical fingerprint sensor and a more significant uptake for the In-display sensors. For the phones that have full body display, In-display sensors do make a lot of sense as they do not compromise on screen real-estate and also allow the back panel to remain neat.
