OPPO confirmed earlier this week that it will launch the successor to last year’s K1 in China on May 23. The Chinese smartphone maker today shared the first clear render of the upcoming smartphone, showing a notchless display with a pop-up selfie camera and a gradient back design. Additionally, the OPPO K3 has been listed on JD.com, confirming some of its key specifications.

OPPO K3 Set to Launch in China on May 23, Listed on JD.com Already

The latest OPPO K3 launch poster released by the company on Weibo confirms the smartphone will have a pop-up selfie camera. However, the pop-up camera appears similar to the one on the F11 Pro and not the pivot selfie camera on Reno series phones. Some rumors had claimed the K3 could come with a shark fin-style selfie camera like the Reno and Reno 10x Zoom.

In addition to the pop-up selfie camera, we can see that the smartphone will be available in a gradient finish with curved corners. Apart from the Purple color option seen in the render above, the OPPO K3 is expected to be offered in White and Green colors as well. On the back of the phone is a dual-camera array with an LED flash placed right below. The OPPO branding towards the bottom is similar to the Reno series phones. While the design of the phone is no longer a mystery, we will need to wait until May 23 to find out exactly how much it will cost in China.

Popular Chinese online retailer JD.com has listed the OPPO K3 on its website ahead of the formal launch on May 23. The listing only confirms the smartphone will be running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset. While the JD.com listing does not reveal the rest of the smartphone’s spec sheet, it includes several images showing the K3 in the Purple color option.

OPPO K3 Leaked Specifications, Features

Moving on to the hardware specifications, OPPO has confirmed that the K3 will be equipped with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display panel with DC dimming technology and an improved optical In-display fingerprint scanner. The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz, a decent upgrade over the Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset powering its predecessor. While the memory configurations have not been revealed, OPPO has confirmed the phone will have UFS 2.1 internal storage and LPDDR4x RAM.

OPPO K3 Features

For impressive gaming performance, OPPO K3 will come with features like Game Boost 2.0, Frame Boost, Touch Boost, and Link Boost. As for the pop-up camera, OPPO claims the 16MP selfie snapper can rise up in just 0.74 seconds and has been tested over 200,000 times. One of the official teaser images released by OPPO also reveals a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.
