Oppo recently announced its first-ever foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N in China. Now, it looks like the company is gearing up to launch a new mid-range phone in the popular K series in its homeland. The Oppo K series has been China-exclusive for a few months now and soon, Oppo is expected to add a new Oppo K9 series smartphone. Currently, the series consists of three devices 一 Oppo K9 Pro 5G, OPPO K9s 5G, and the vanilla OPPO K9 5G. Like the rest of the phones in the series, the upcoming Oppo K9 series device will also be a 5G capable handset. Let’s take a look at more information on the upcoming device in detail.

Oppo K9 Series 5G Phone Spotted on Geekbench

An upcoming Oppo smartphone under the Oppo K9 series has been spotted on the geekbench database, which has revealed more information about the device. For starters, the has been listed on the database with the “PGCM10” model number 一 belonging to the Oppo K9 series. The Oppo phone is said to be powered by an octa-core chipset with six cores running at 2GHz and two cores running at 2.4GHz. This is the Dimensity 700 5G processor, which is MediaTek’s mid-range 5G SoC. Further, the listing also reveals 8GB RAM and an Android 11 OS version, which is a bit disappointing for an upcoming smartphone as Android 12 is available now for many devices.

Previously, the device was spotted on TENAA (via GSMArena) revealing several specs as well. The Oppo PGCM10 is said to feature a 6.5-inch FullHD+ LCD screen, a 5,000mAh battery and 33W fast charging support. The device is said to come in two configurations with three RAM options: 4GB/6GB/8GB and two storage options: 128GB/256GB. Further, the device will come with a 16MP selfie snapper, a 64MP main camera, and two 2MP cameras on the back.

As of now, the company has not announced the launch date of any Oppo K9 series device yet, in China. With the device already popping on multiple certification sites, we should hear more official news in the coming days.
