As expected, Oppo finally unveiled the much-awaited ColorOS 7 at an event held in Beijing. The latest iteration of the company’s custom skin is based on Android 10 and brings a ton of changes and improvements compared to the last version. Almost all the mid-range to high-end Oppo smartphones are scheduled to receive it starting November 25. Realme’s smartphones are also slated to receive it but the ColorOS 7 builds for them will be different, as stated by Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth recently.
The brand-new ColorOS 7 by Oppo follows a new colour scheme uniformly throughout the UI. The icons are now a tad bit flat and rounded at the sides and are also customizable (size and shape). Also, it packs a new set of wallpapers in collaboration with Art+ and also features system sound in partnership with Episound, a renowned Danish company. The software also mimics natural sound similar to Xiaomi’s MIUI 10 and MIUI 11. Moreover, the fonts have also received a bit more of a change as well with OPPO Sans. Other than that, there are improvements in performance in terms of RAM and battery, it also comes with a revamped Game Space to offer better gameplay.
The camera app on ColorOS 7 also receives a facelift with new improved Portrait Mode 2.0, Extreme Night Mode, and Super Anti-shake Video mode. The Gallery app gets a new image and video editor named Soloop for on-the-go editing. The Oppo Breeno voice assistant also gets some improvements and the whole UI looks stunning with a reformed Dark Mode.
