Oppo May Announce Reno6 Series At its Mid Year Gala Event on May 22

OPPO is gearing up to expand its smartphone lineup with the launch of its latest flagship Reno6 series. We have already witnessed a series of leaks and rumours about the series and the lineup is expected to feature three new handsets including the OPPO Reno 6, Reno 6 Pro, and Reno 6 Pro+. The smartphones have also appeared in several certifications and benchmarking sites revealing some specifications details. Now in the latest leaks, it has been reported that the OPPO Reno6 series is going to launch at OPPO’s Mid Year Gala event on May 22nd, 2021. Let’s have a closer look at the latest leak.

OPPO Reno6 Series Rumoured Launch Date

Popular tipster Mukul sharma shared a post on his official Twitter handle revealing the OPPO Reno6 series is going to launch at its Mid Year Gala event which is slated to be held on May 22. The tipster has also shared a screenshot of the Weibo post which suggests that the Reno6 series launch on the same date. Besides, the leaks didn’t reveal much about the models which are going to hit the stage on May 22nd.

Going with the previous leaks, the OPPO Reno 6 was spotted on the 3C certification site with the model number OPPO PEPM00. The listing suggests that the OPPO Reno 6 will arrive with a 65W fast charging support. Leaks also suggest that the OPPO Reno 6 is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, clubbed with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone is also said to run on Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1 out-of-the-box. Reports also claim that the handset will feature a 90Hz rate display.

The Pro variant of the smartphone is rumoured to ship with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, which will be clubbed with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will also feature a punch-hole camera cutout design to make room for a selfie camera setup.

However, do note that the company is yet to reveal anything officially and it’s advisable to take this information with a pinch of salt. We can expect some more information about the upcoming smartphone as we move closer to the launch.
