OPPO New K Series (K1) to Launch on October 10; Teaser Hints In-Display Fingerprint Scanner

Oppo is reportedly starting a new K-series to bridge the gap between the R-series and the other high-end devices. The company will be debuting the series with the Oppo K1, which is launching on October 10. The smartphone has been listed on the official website of the company. Oppo K1: Launch on October 10

As per the teaser, the smartphone will be releasing on October 10. The device will reportedly feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. This will be the first K-series device from the Chinese smartphone maker. The smartphone has already got the TEENA certification under the model number PBCM10 PBCM30.

Oppo K1: Gets TEENA Certification

As per the reports, the rear panel of the smartphone uses a gradient color, and there is no rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The new teaser suggests that the smartphone will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner and a waterdrop screen. The smartphone can be unlocked if you tap the screen. The technology uses a built-in 4mm large sensor under the screen that comes with a 3P lens combination and a Micro Lens microlens.

In addition to the red and blue gradients shown in the pictures, the Oppo K1 will come in three more colors -silver-green, blue and black.

Oppo K1: Specifications, Features

In the display department, the smartphone features a 6.4-inch AMOLED multi-touch display with 2340 x 1080 (FHD+) pixels resolution. For now, the device comes in Blue, Red, and Silver colors. Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by an unspecified 1.95GHz processor with 4GB/6GB of RAM. The 4GB RAM variant will be paired with 64GB onboard storage, while the 6GB RAM variant will feature 128GB onboard storage.
On the software front, the device runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS. The smartphone will be fuelled by a 3500 mAh battery. In the imaging department, the Oppo K1 will come with a dual rear camera set up with 4K video recording support, LED flash. The primary sensor will be a 16MP unit and a 2MP depth-sensor. On the front, the device will house a powerful 25MP camera for selfies and video calling. The front-camera could come with the Face Unlock feature. On the connectivity front, the options that will tag along with the Oppo K1 will include Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, WiFi, 4G, and has a 3.5mm audio jack. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone measures 158.3 mm x 75.5 mm x 7.4 mm and weighs 156g.

Three Oppo Devices Get TEENA Certification

The Chinese smartphone maker is reportedly gearing up to launch three new smartphones. Recently, three Oppo smartphones have received the TEENA certification including the alleged Oppo K1. Besides the Oppo K1, the other two under the model number PBDT00 & PBDM00 will run on the Android-based Color OS out of the box. Both the devices a 6.4-inch screen and a surprisingly smaller 1800mAh battery. Judging by the battery capacity, we are expecting the devices to belong to a budget series from the Chinese smartphone maker. While the display and the OS specifications are similar, the two smartphones could pack different processors and feature different storage options.

TEENA has also verified a new variant of the OPPO Find X flagship smartphone that comes with 10GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The existence of the device was reconfirmed by AnTuTu, which shared the benchmark score of the upcoming Find X variant on its Weibo handle. As shared by AnTuTu, the Oppo handset manages to gather an overall score of 2,71,362 points.
