OPPO Pad 2 might launch outside of China soon as the tablet has been spotted on the website of the SIRIM database. The listing, spotted first by TheTechOutlook, reveals the model number of the global variant to be OPD2202. Apart from this, the SIRIM database only reveals a few details about the global variant. However, rumours suggest that the OPPO Pad 2 global variant might feature identical specifications as the Chinese model except for the processor. Here’s all that you need to know about the latest development.
OPPO Pad 2 Might Hit Global Market Soon As SIRIM Listing Spotted
OPPO launched its second-generation Android tablet in the Chinese market earlier this month. The brand is set to launch the device in the global market soon. The tablet has been spotted on Malaysia’s SIRIM website, a testing certification for electronics. We can safely assume that the tablet will soon launch worldwide, with Malaysia being one of the first markets to receive it. However, the listing only reveals the model number OPD2202.
OPPO Pad 2: Specifications, Features
We can expect the global specifications of the tablet to be the same as the Chinese variant. To recall, the OPPO Pad 2 flaunts an 11.61-inch IPS LCD display with a 2,800 x 2,000 pixels resolution. Other display features include a 7:5 aspect ratio, 500 nits peak brightness, 144Hz refresh rate, 88% screen-to-body ratio, 10-bit colours, and Dolby Vision support.
Powering the performance of the tablet is a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC built on a 4nm fabrication process. It’s speculated that the global variant of the tablet might feature a different SoC, but there’s yet to be a word on that. The brand has launched a Wi-Fi-only variant in China, despite the processor supporting 5G connectivity.
The processor is backed by up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Out of the box, the tablet boots ColorOS 13, based on the Android 13 OS. As for the optics, the tablet features a single 13-megapixel shooter on the rear panel with support for up to 4K video recording. The 8-megapixel front camera can record videos up to 1080p @30fps.
Powering the smartphone is a beefy 9,510mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and a USB-C port.
