Oppo has launched a new Android tablet in China along with the Oppo Reno 8 series smartphones. The comoany’s second tablet is called the Oppo Pad Air and it is an affordable tablet. The brand entered the tablet segment in China back in Feburary with the launch of the Oppo Pad Air and within a few months, now the company has announced the Pad Air, which is almost half the price of the original Oppo Pad.

The Oppo Pad Air is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 series processor and it comes with a 2K display. The device misses out on the high refresh rate screen and also the large battery that was present on the Oppo Pad. However, this is still a very thin and light tablet. The Oppo Pad Air starts at CNY 1299(~Rs 15,100) for the 4GB+64GB model and goes up to CNY 1699 (~Rs 19,800) for the 6GB+128GB variant. The tablet is available in Silver and Grey colour options. The pre-booking for the same is now open in China.

The Oppo Pad Air flaunts a 10.36-inch 2K display with a resolution of 2000 × 1200 pixels. It has a screen refresh rate of 60Hz, 83.5% screen-to-body ratio, 71% NTSC colour gamut, 360nits brightness, and 225 ppi pixel density. Under the hood, the tablet draws power from the Snapdragon 680 SoC clocked at 2.4GHz and coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. The tab offers up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS2.2 internal storage.

The Oppo Pad Air runs off a 7100mAh battery unit, which supports 18W fast charging and support for PD protocol. In the camera department, there is an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selife camera, which is present on the side bezel. There is no fingerprint scanner, but it does come with face unlock support.

In terms of design, the Pad Air comes with a textured pattern on the back with a metal body. The slate weighs 440 grams and it is just 6.94mm thick. Other features include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth V5.1, Type-C port, ColorOS based on Android 12 OS, and a quad speaker setup with Dolby Atmos. Lastly, the tablet also comes with optional accessories like the magnetic keyboard and Oppo Pencil stylus, which can be purchased separately.
