OPPO R15 Pro Features & Specifications

The OPPO R15 has a glass-and-metal design with a subtle gradient finish on its glass back. At the front, the phone features a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution (2280×1080 pixels, 401ppi, 84.1% screen-to-body ratio) and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There’s a good-old fingerprint reader at the rear. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.0 software. While not as bad as Vivo’s FunTouch OS, ColorOS needs a lot of work to be competent.

The phone features a 20MP selfie camera that’s embedded into a conventional-shaped notch towards the top of the screen. The selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture, 20mm wide-angle lens, and a Full HD 1080p video recording. At the rear, the phone features a 16MP+20MP dual-camera setup. The primary camera uses a 1/2.6-inch sensor (1.22μm pixels), 25mm lens with f/1.7 aperture, and phase-detection autofocus. It can also record 4K videos at 30fps.

The OPPO R15 Pro uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. There’s a microSD card slot for storage expansion by up to an additional 256GB. However, it’s not a dedicated memory card slot as you’ll need to use the SIM 2 slot for storage expansion.

The phone is powered by a 3430mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge (5V/4A) and a compatible charger comes inside the box. In terms of connectivity, the phone features A-GPS+GLONASS, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, a microUSB 2.0 port (with OTG) and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Is OPPO R15 Pro A Good Choice in 2019?

No. The OPPO R15 Pro is priced at INR 25,990 and at this price, you can get a lot of phones that have flagship-grade processing chipsets and better cameras with OIS. The ASUS Zenfone 5Z (Review) and the POCO F1 (Review) are good alternatives.

The Zenfone 5Z uses the Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, a dual-camera setup with OIS and 4K video recording, glass-and-metal design, dual-speaker setup, and a 3300mAh battery. The POCO F1 uses a plastic body, but it uses the Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM, 64/128/256GB storage, 12MP+5MP dual-camera setup, stereo speakers, and a 4000mAh battery.
