OPPO R17 Pro Key Features, Specs

The OPPO R17 Pro’s biggest feature has to be Super VOOC. This is OPPO’s second-generation VOOC fast charging technology that promises 40 percent battery charging speed in just 10 minutes and 100 percent in just 40 minutes. OPPO says that its technology has passed harsh safety tests including 1,000 loop tests and 600 independent quick-charge tests and that it is a safe technology for daily use. OPPO achieves this crazy fast charging speed with a bi-cell design in the battery.

The second big feature of the OPPO R17 Pro is the array of triple cameras on the rear. The primary 12-megapixel sensor features a variable aperture from f/1.5 to f/2.4, similar to the Galaxy S9 duo and the Galaxy Note 9. Then there’s a 20MP sensor with f/2.6 aperture. Lastly, there is a 3D TOF (Time of Flight) camera that assists in depth effects as well as AR and VR apps. The rear camera hardware is spruced up by optical image stabilization, dual-pixel PDAF, and AI-based Ultra Night Mode for better low-light photos.

The OPPO R17 Pro also rocks an on-screen fingerprint reader. The R17 Pro rocks a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 panel. The teardrop notch design leads to a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5 percent. Inside the chassis, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The handset boots Android 8.1 Oreo with the latest version of ColorOS 5.2. The OPPO R17 Pro also has a 3700mAh battery, which combined with Super VOOC, makes an irresistible combo.

However, the OPPO R17 Pro lacks many flagship features like wireless charging support, IP ratings, and a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack. At INR 45,990, is the handset worth it to sacrifice such features in exchange for a triple-camera setup and Super VOOC? Let us know in the comments section below.
