As per schedule, OPPO finally unwraps its Reno 3 series of smartphones comprising of the Reno and Reno 3 Pro in China today with dual-mode 5G support. They don’t come cheap when compared to recent Chinese competitors like the Redmi K30 5G but features a premium design, better display, faster charging, and better camera capabilities for the extra money. Oppo Reno 3 Specifications
The OPPO Reno 3 is the world’s first smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L paired with 8GB / 12GB RAM and 128GB ROM. This new 5G-capable MediaTek SoC comes with four Cortex-A77 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores with Mali-G77 GPU. Also, it is the world’s fastest sub-6GHZ 5G chipset as it can reach a peak downlink speak of 4.7Gbps.
On the front, the phone comes equipped with a 6.5-inches OLED display with a fingerprint sensor residing underneath it. There is a waterdrop notch at the top of the display housing a 32MP selfie camera. The back of the device, on the other hand, features a quad-camera setup which includes a 64MP primary Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens, a monochrome sensor and a depth sensor.
The Reno 3 is backed by a 4,025mAh battery with support for VOOC 4.0 proprietary fast charging technology and runs ColorOS 7 based on Android 10.
Oppo Reno 3 Pro Specifications
The OPPO Reno 3 Pro is fitted with a 6.5-inch curved OLED display blessed with a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and supports HDR10+ content. It also has a 180Hz touch detection rate and a punch-hole at the top left corner for a 32MP shooter for selfies and video calls. The fingerprint sensor sits underneath the display like any other recent OPPO smartphones with OLED displays.
Just like the regular Reno 3, the Reno 3 Pro comes with a quad-camera setup at the back but with a different set of sensors. The four sensors are as follow – a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens, 13MP sensor with 2x telephoto lens capable of shooting 5x hybrid zoom shots, and a 2MP monochrome sensor.
The Reno 3 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G and comes in two variants – 8GB RAM / 128GB ROM and 12GB RAM / 256GB ROM. It runs Android 10-based ColorOS 7 and gets its juice from a 4,025mAh battery with support for 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging technology.
Oppo Reno 3, Reno 3 Pro Price and Availability
The Oppo Reno 3 is priced at 3,399 Yuan (Rs 34,500) and 3,699 Yuan (Rs 38,000) for the 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 128GB variants respectively. It will be available from December 31st and will come in White, Black, Starry Night Blue, and Sunrise colour options.
Whereas, the Oppo Reno 3 will retail for 3,999 Yuan (Rs 41,000) and 4,499 Yuan (Rs 46,000) for the 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations respectively. The colour options are similar to the regular model and the pre-order goes live on 31st December. Additionally, it also has a special edition called ‘Oppo Reno 3 Pro Pantone 2020’ with a blue paint job and blue-coloured accessories plus box since it will be the colour of 2020. This variant is priced at 4,199 Yuan for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
