OPPO Reno 7 Series to Come with Sony’s New IMX709 Cat-Eye Lens, Unique Notification Light Tipped Online

Oppo Reno 7 series is all set to launch on November 25 in China. Ahead of the launch, the pricing of the Reno 7, Reno 7 Pro, and Reno 7 SE were leaked along with full specs of the Reno 7 SE and Reno 7 Pro. Now, the latest leak just ahead of the launch gives us more details on the camera of the Reno 7 series. Let’s take a look at the camera feature of the Reno 7 series in detail.

According to a report from Gizmochina, the Oppo Reno 7 series will be the world’s first phone to feature Sony IMX709 cat-eye lens and this is expected to be Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro’s selfie camera. The report further adds, Oppo has claimed the Sony IMX709 along with its self-developed RGBW image technology can capture images with a 60% percent increase in light sensitivity and also reduce 35% noise.

As per the recent leaks, the Oppo Reno 7 Pro flagship phone is expected to feature a 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie camera on the front. Additionally, the Reno 7 series will also take full advantage of the camera bump on the back. A tweet from tipster Abhishek Yadav revealed that the Oppo Reno 7 series will have a unique LED lighting around the camera bump which is likely to act as an LED notification light or it can also be a useful charging indicator.


In terms of other specs, the Reno 7 Pro is said to come with a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC along with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is said to sport a 50MP main with Sony IMX 766 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide Sony IMX 355 sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. In terms of pricing, the Oppo Reno 7 Pro is tipped to start at CNY 4,299 (around Rs 50,250) for the 8GB +256GB variant.
