Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC Variant Spotted on Geekbench Listing, India Launch Likely Soon

The Oppo Reno 8 series was announced in China back in May and the company is expected to roll out the devices to some global markets as well as India soon. The series consists of three devices 一the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+, Reno 8 Pro, and the vanilla Reno 8.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ in China is powered by Dimensity 8100 Max SoC and it also comes with a MariSilicon X chip the Reno 8 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and lastly, the vanilla Reno 8 comes with Dimensity 1300 SoC. Ahead of the launch globally, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G has been spotted on the Geekbench with a chipset that is entirely different from the one present on the Chinese variant of the Reno 8 Pro 5G.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G Global Variant Listed on Geekbench

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G global version with a CPH2357 model number has been spotted on the performance benchmarking site. Firstly, the device will be powered by an octa-core chipset with four cores running at 2.85GHz and four cores running at 2GHz. This is the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 (or 8100 Max) chipset, which is different from the one we have seen in the Chinese variant of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro, which is powered by the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC.

Further, the device has been listed with 12GB of RAM and it will run on Android 12 out of the box. The chipset will be paired with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU. The device has secured 898 points in the single-core test and 3555 in the multi-core test.

Based on the previous report, the Reno 8 Pro+ won’t launch in India. It will be interesting to see if Oppo will launch the Reno 8 Pro+ 5G as the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G in India as well as other markets outside China in the coming days.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ 5G, Reno 8 Pro 5G: Specifications

In China, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ sports a 120Hz 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with up to 950nits peak brightness. Under the hood, the device is powered by Dimensity 8100 Max SoC and it also comes with a MariSilicon X chip. The phone offers up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS3.1 storage.

In the camera department, there is a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro snapper. There is a 32MP Sony IMX709 snapper on the front for selfies. The Reno 8 Pro+ draws power from a 4500mAh battery unit backed by an 80W Super Flash charging.

On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro in China features a 120Hz 6.62-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and the device is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC with a clock speed of up to 2.4GHz. It comes with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The rest of the specs like the camera setup, battery, and the charging speed on the Reno 8 Pro are the same as the Reno 8 Pro+.
