OPPO Reno 9 series is expected to launch next month or in December 2022 in China. The company is expected to launch at least three phones later this year. These include the Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro and Reno 9 Pro Plus. OPPO is likely to launch the Reno 9 series in India early next year. As we get closer to the rumoured launch date, a new leak has revealed the specifications and features of the vanilla Reno 9 5G.

OPPO is said to switch to a Snapdragon 700-series processor for the vanilla Reno model. The Reno 8, in comparison, launched with a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC. Let’s take a look at the OPPO Reno 9 specifications, features and other details known so far.

OPPO Reno 9 Specifications

The OPPO Reno 9 will be the company’s new upper mid-range smartphone launching later this year in China. The India launch is likely to follow. Before the official Reno 9 launch date is announced, a new leak by tipster Digital Chat Station (via) has revealed the specifications of the phone.

The tipster claims that the Reno 9 will sport a 6.7-inch OLED display with an under-screen fingerprint scanner. The screen will support a 120Hz refresh rate, which will be an upgrade over the Reno 8’s 90Hz panel. There will also be a hole-punch cutout at the top centre, which was revealed via a leaked live image of the phone.

The live images further revealed that the Reno 9 will sport a triple-camera setup on the back. It will feature a 64MP OmniVision OV64B main camera. The details about the other two sensors are unknown at the moment.

Under the hood, the Reno 9 5G will include a Snapdragon 778G SoC. It will launch with up to 12GB of RAM.

The phone is also said to pack a 4500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. This is contrary to some of the previous leaks, which revealed that the phone will support 40W Universal Fast Charging Specifications (UFCS) standards. At 67W, the Reno 9 will still charge slower than the Reno 8’s 80W fast charging support. What are your thoughts on the leaked Reno 9 series specifications? Let us know in the comments below.
