OPPO Reno5 Indian Launch Officially Teased a day After its Chinese Launch

The Indian launch of the OPPO Reno5 (series) does not appear to be too far away from now, as company officials have already started teasing it.

Yesterday, OPPO unveiled its OPPO Reno5 series of smartphones in China. The OPPO Reno5 series includes three smartphones – OPPO Reno5, OPPO Reno5 Pro, and OPPO Reno5 (to be unveiled on December 24, 2020 in China) and is so far only been introduced in the company’s home country. That being said, things appear to be happening fast now, as the brand seems to have started teasing the arrival of the OPPO Reno5 device for India as well. As mentioned earlier, company officials have started building up for the launch of a new smartphone in India. Tasleem Arif, Vice President and Head India R&D, OPPO, has recently posted a tweet, which hints at the arrival of the company’s new ‘global product’, which provides users with the ability to shoot ‘brilliant videos’. Though the OPPO Reno5 moniker has not explicitly been used in the tweet, there’s no other OPPO smartphone that has launched in recent times, so it is safe to assume that he is talking about the OPPO Reno5 smartphone. Coming to the specifications of the device, the OPPO Reno5 sports a 6.43-inch Full HD+ OLED panel with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The device comes with a 90Hz refresh rate display, which makes room for a left-aligned single punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.

Speaking of, the OPPO Reno5 features a 32MP selfie snapper. At the back, the device makes room for a quadruple rear camera setup, which includes a 64MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera with a 119-degree field of view, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP monochrome lens with f/2.4 aperture.

Under the hood, the OPPO Reno5 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which is paired with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. In terms of software, the OPPO Reno5 boots the latest Android 11 OS out of the box with the company’s in-house ColorOS 11.1 skin baked on top of it.
