Oppo Watch 2 launch confirmed

Oppo will launch the Watch 2 in China on July 27. The smartwatch is already listed on JD.com, confirming the design and other details. The smartwatch has a square-shaped dial with rounded corners. The screen also curves slightly towards the edges to offer an immersive viewing experience. It has two buttons on the right edge that are likely the power and function keys. The company is also likely to launch a circular-shaped dial version of the smartwatch.

An IT Home report separately reveals that the watch will draw power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 chip. It will come with 16GB of storage and also feature eSIM support. Much like other smartwatches, the second-generation Oppo Watch will also support a bunch of health and fitness-related features. It will come with a heart rate monitoring system, stress monitoring, etc. It will also feature a custom Apollo4s chip jointly developed by Oppo and Ambiq. This new chip is said to be used in conjunction with the Snapdragon Wear 4100, which will reduce the power consumption of the watch. The custom Apollo4s chip will help reduce the computing power when performing low-power tasks, therefore saving the battery life.

Other details of the smartwatch such as the battery life, IP-rating, screen dimensions, etc., remain unknown at the moment. The company is expected to share some more details ahead of the launch. What are your thoughts on the new Oppo Watch? Do let us know in the comments below.
