Oppo is commonly reported to unveil its next-gen foldables Find N3 and Find N3 Flip later this month but these might not be the only announcements. It may also take wraps off the Oppo Watch 4 Pro, its newest smartwatch. The company is yet to reveal the release date but has started sharing official teasers. These teasers confirm many of the key specifications of the upcoming wearable.
Oppo Watch 4 Pro Key Specs Confirmed
Oppo has shared official Watch 4 Pro teasers on its Weibo account. The first teaser confirms the new smartwatch will be powered by dual chipsets. It will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor accompanied by the BES 2700 co-processor. This is the same approach that we saw on the Oppo Watch 3 series last year too.
The Oppo Watch 4 Pro is confirmed to come with 2GB of RAM. This is twice the amount of memory on the predecessors. The company is teasing significantly faster app launch times with up to 4.2GB/s transfer rate. If correct, this will be a beneficial addition for users in various situations. For example when switching between your music and workout apps while you are at the gym.
The next-gen smartwatch is set to come with a LTPO AMOLED panel. The display size is still under wraps but it is confirmed to offer full-colour Always On Display (AOD) support. It means users will not have to wake up the entire display when they only want to check details like time, temperature, number of steps walked, heartbeat, etc.
Oppo says its upcoming smartwatch is packed with high-precision sensors. There will be an 8-channel heart-rate sensor, 16-channel blood oxygen (SpO2) sensor, wrist temperature sensor, and ECG sensor. The company is further teasing more than 85 ready-to-use independent applications. It seems like these apps will not rely on a constant smartphone connection for working.
The teaser showed a navigation app suggesting users will not have to carry their smartphones around if they wish to check out directions on the smartwatch. Moreover, it is said to offer a 5-day battery life with full smart mode usage which will increase to up to 14 days under light smart mode usage.
The company is yet to reveal other details about the Oppo Watch 4 Pro like its design and pricing. The launch date is also unknown but as we said in the beginning, there is a good chance it will debut at the same event as the new Oppo foldable smartphones in China. Some of the previous leaks have mentioned August 29 as the possible launch date for the new products.
