Google’s Gemini Gems are now available. First introduced at Google I/O 2024, these are custom AI models running within the Gemini AI chatbot. Gemini Gems works like custom GPTs on ChatGPT, a custom version of Gemini to act as experts on topics or refine them for specific goals. Here are the details.

Gemini Gems have a set of premade Gems for different scenarios:
- Learning Coach – To help you learn complex topics by breaking them down and making them easier to understand.
- Brainstormer – To help you brainstorm new ideas.
- Career guide – Gives you detailed plans to refine skills and achieve your career goals.
- Writing editor– Helps you write better with clear and constructive feedback.
- Coding partner – Helps you level up your coding skills while helping you build projects and learn while doing that.
You can also create your Gem using the New Gem option. You can give it instructions on what it should do and give it a name. You can chat with your custom Gem anytime you want.
Sounds good? but there's a catch. Gemini Gems is available only for premium Gemini customers on Gemini Advanced, Business and Enterprise plans. It’s not available in the free version of Gemini.
It's also worth noting that Gemini Gems can't be created from the Gemini app as of now, you have to visit the Gemini website to create Gems. After creating custom Gems from the website with custom instructions, it can be used on the mobile app.
