Panasonic today announced the addition of a new model to its Eluga line of Android smartphones. The new Eluga I7 features a modern looking bezel-less front with an 18:9 aspect ratio Big View display.

The Panasonic Eluga I7 carries a price tag of Rs.6,499 and comes in three colors – Black, Blue, and Gold. It will be going on sale in India starting April 24th exclusively on Flipkart.

The Panasonic Eluga I7 sports a 5.45-inch Big View display with 720 x 1440 HD+ resolution, a 2.5D curved glass layer, and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It runs on a quad-core MediaTek MT6737H 64-bit processor clocked at 1.3 GHz with a Mali-T720 GPU. In the memory department, Panasonic’s newest offering comes equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. Users will be able to expand the storage further by up to 128GB thanks to a dedicated microSD card slot.

At the back of the handset is an 8MP camera with an LED flash. For selfies, the Eluga I7 features an 8MP snapper on the front with an LED flash to help users take selfies even when there isn’t much light around. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G VoLTE. The handset’s internals are fueled by a 4000mAh capacity battery, larger than most other smartphones priced in the same range. So if battery life is your main priority, the Eluga I7 is definitely a decent option. In terms of physical size, the Panasonic Eluga I7 measures 148.8 x 70.9 x 9.25mm and weighs in at 168 grams. On the software front, the handset runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box.

For unlocking the Eluga I7, users can choose from three options – a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, Trusted Face recognition, and Trusted Voice. As you may have guessed by their names, Trusted Face recognition is a Face Unlock feature, while Trusted Voice lets users unlock the Eluga I7 simply by speaking into the device. The Eluga I7 also comes with Arbo Hub, the company’s AI virtual assistant that can help users with cricket scores, news, making payments, booking a cab, and more.
