Google Pixel 7a is expected to launch later this year. If the rumour mill is to be believed, the new Pixel 7a is launching in the US and a few other markets in May. The new A-series Google smartphone will be unveiled at the Google I/O 2023. We are still a couple of months away from the rumoured launch timeline. However, if you wish to get your hands on the upcoming Google Pixel smartphone before anyone else, you could do so.

The upcoming Pixel 7a was on sale on eBay. Yes, even before Google released its new smartphone, the 7a was available to be bought online via eBay. It is not a commercial device though. The listed unit of the Pixel 7a is a prototype that the company must have handed out to select developers or members of internal teams. Let’s take a look at more details about the Google Pixel 7a specifications, features and other details known so far.

Google Pixel 7a Can be Bought Online

The Google Pixel 7a was listed online ahead of its official launch. The smartphone was available for purchase via eBay before the launch. The prototype unit of the 7a was listed on eBay for a whopping $2550 (roughly Rs 2,10,400). The listed price is nearly five times more than what the Pixel 6a costs in the US.

The seller is charging a premium because the phone is a prototype device. Users who want to get their hands on the upcoming Google phone can have a chance to buy the 7a months ahead of its launch. The attached image reveals the design of the phone, confirming that it will sport a dual-camera setup on the back. There is a horizontal visor on the rear panel, which also houses the LED flash. There are line patterns on the prototype unit with a “symbol in lieu of the “G” logo,” according to the report by 9to5Google.

On the front, the phone has fairly narrow bezels and a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. We also see the USB Type-C port at the bottom along with the power and volume buttons on the right edge.

Some of the images revealed that the phone has 8GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of storage from SKHynix. This is an upgrade over the Pixel 6a, which comes with only 6GB of RAM.

The seller revealed that the phone does not turn on and cannot be used. “It goes only into fastboot mode. Device is in excellent cosmetic condition. Maybe someone can make it work and own a very collectible device ahead of it’s launch. Note that SIM tray is missing,” the description stated.

The live images confirm the design renders of the Pixel 7a, which were leaked months ago. The device is expected to sport a 6.1-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. It will have support for a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is also likely to feature a 12MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. Some reports suggested that the phone will get an upgraded 64MP primary camera sensor.

The device is also expected to feature the Tensor G2 SoC and boot Android 13 out of the box. There will also be support for 5W wireless charging, according to some rumours.
