The company drops these quarterly updates in the last month of every quarter to keep things fresh for its users and give them new features to play with. The last feature drop came mid-march with 5G support, Magic Eraser for all pixel devices, Direct My Call, and more. Google is rolling out the latest Pixel Feature Drop for Pixel Phone, Pixel Watch, and Fitbit devices starting today. The feature drop will progressively roll out to all users over the next few weeks. Here are all features coming to your Pixel device.
Google Pixel Feature Drop June 2023: Pixel Phone Features
Google has announced a laundry list of new features for its Pixel series of smartphones. The company has added new Emoji and Cinematic Wallpapers in the latest feature drop. The former was announced at the Google I/O 2023 and lets users create custom wallpapers using 4,000 different emoji in various patterns and colours. The cherry on top is that these wallpapers are interactive, adding fun to the experience. On the other hand, Cinematic Wallpapers turns 2D images into 3D wallpaper for an added layer of depth.
The next significant new feature is the Car Crash Detection enhancements. Pixel phones have had car crash detection feature on them since 2019. But with the new feature drop, Google is adding real-time location data and a call status with emergency contacts to car crash detection. Users can now activate the feature with voice, making it convenient.
Google has also updated the Pixel Recorder with new features. The latest feature drop brings Record Speaker Labels, which can be exported as audio transcripts to Google Docs. Additionally, Recorder can now generate speaker-labeled video clips, enabling users to search audio recordings through these labels.
Lastly, Google has released several Pixel 6 and 7 series-specific features. Users of these phones can take timed photos with an open palm gesture. Moreover, Pixel 7 Pro users will now benefit from the Macro Focus mode in video recordings as well.
Google Pixel Feature Drop June 2023: Pixel Watch Features
The June Feature Drop has also added several useful features for Pixel Watch users. The two major additions are advanced SpO2 and Heart Rate tracking on Pixel Watch. The Pixel Watch now supports blood oxygen level monitoring while sleeping and will also alert users when their heart rate gets too high or low.
Google has added support for more languages for Google Assistant in Wear OS. It now supports Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Polish, and Spanish. Spotify on Wear OS also gets three new tiles – Spotify DJ session, podcasts, and frequent music. For health enthusiasts, Pixel Watch now supports automatic pause when they take a break from your workout and resume when they continue.
