The heavily-rumoured Game Pass competitor from SIE has finally been revealed, the all-new ‘PlayStation Plus’, which offers subscribers three flexible options. Plus Essential, one of the options, is effectively the service in its current state, providing players at least 2 free games every month along with access to multiplayer.

One particular tier, the Plus Premium, combines PS Now with PS Plus and because certain regions of the world do not have access to PS Now, the tier will be available for cheaper as ‘Plus Deluxe’. India will likely be one of the countries to receive Plus Deluxe as PS Now still isn’t available in the country.

SIE has confirmed a catalogue of up to 400 PS4/PS5 games, including first-party and third-party hits. The Premium tier also adds an addition 340 games including the likes of PS4 games (via cloud streaming) and PS2, PSP, and the original PlayStation games through both streaming and download.

PlayStation Studios

Indian pricing has not yet been revealed and it looks like PlayStation plan to launch the service in a phased regional approach. SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) plans to launch the service in several markets in Asia during the June timeframe, followed by North America, Europe and the rest of the world where PlayStation Plus is available.

SIE has also assured that most PSN territories will have the new PlayStation Plus service by the end of the first half of 2022. Cloud gaming and other services will eventually make their way to additional markets, but information on that remains sparse.

Launch titles for the service will include the likes of Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal.
