Poco C51 with Helio G36 SoC, 5000mAh Battery Launched in India: Price, Specifications

Poco has been launching many budget smartphones in India to disrupt the market. The Xiaomi sub-brand became the top-selling smartphone brand on Flipkart for Q1 of 2023. The company recently launched Poco C55 smartphone in India, which was a rebranded Redmi 12C smartphone. Poco has now rebranded another budget Redmi smartphone as Poco C51 in India. The micro-site and teaser of the smartphones were revealed recently. Poco has equipped the C51 smartphone with a MediaTek Helio G36 processor, 5000mAh battery, Android 13 Go Edition, and more. Let us have a look at the pricing, availability, and specifications of the newly launched smartphone.  

Poco C51: Pricing and Availability

Poco has priced the lone variant of the smartphone with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage at Rs 8,499. The introductory pricing of the smartphone is at Rs 7,799 for the first sale. Poco has revealed that the smartphone would be exclusively sold via Flipkart. The company revels that the first sale of the device would start on April 10. It will be available in two colour options, namely Power Black and Royal Blue. 


Poco C51: Specifications

Poco has equipped the C51 smartphone with a 6.52 inches IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution. The display has a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9, a peak brightness of 400 nits, a pixel density of 296PPI, and supports Night Light. Under the hood, Poco C51 features the MediaTek Helio G36 built on a 12nm process. The chipset is an octa-core chipset clocked at 2.2GHz and IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

Poco has paired the chipset with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. The company claims that it has up to 7GB RAM including vRAM. The smartphone also supports expanding storage via a micro-SD card up to 1TB. The device runs out of the box on Android 13 Go Edition, similar to other budget smartphones. Poco has equipped the smartphone with a dual rear camera and LED flash in the optics department. 

The C51 has an 8MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a secondary Auxiliary lens, Aka QVGA lens, with an active pixel array of 248 x 328. The rear camera supports video recording up to 1080p at 30fps. The display has a waterdrop notch for the 5MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. Poco has also included support for 1080p video recording for the front camera. 

The device is backed by a large 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging tech. However, the company still uses the old micro-USB port for charging. Poco has equipped the smartphone with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, accelerometer, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, and 4G connectivity.
