POCO recently unveiled its latest offering under the entry-level C-series – the POCO C50 in the Indian market. Now, the latest findings suggest that the company might soon launch yet another smartphone under the C-series – the POCO C55. Reliable tipster Kacper Skrzypek recently claimed the existence of the POCO C55. Kacper further claimed that the upcoming POCO C55 will be a rebranded Redmi 12C which was launched recently in the Chinese market.

To those unaware, the recently launched POCO C50 is also a rebranded Redmi device. In fact, all the C-series smartphones launched by POCO are rebranded Redmi smartphones. The POCO C31, which was launched in 2021, was a rebranded Redmi 9 Active. Kacper took it to Twitter to share the finding. Kacper didn’t mention if his finding is based on MIUI code but the tipster’s claims are usually based on MIUI code findings.

The Redmi 12C features a 6.71-inch HD+ (1650 × 720 pixel) display with a 500nits brightness, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, the latest Redmi smartphone sports an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor that brings with it an integrated Mali G52 GPU. The Helio G85 is more than three years old and we have seen it on several mid-range smartphones including the Redmi Note 9, Realme Narzo 20, Micromax IN Note 1, Moto G31, and more.

On the optics front, the Redmi 12C offers a dual-rear camera setup. The primary sensor on the device is a 50MP primary shooter that has an f/1.8 aperture. It gets accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor and an LED flash. It offers a 5MP front shooter for selfies and video calls. The smartphone comes equipped with a 5000mAh battery unit and 10W charging support. It has a micro-USB port for charging and data transfers.

The Redmi 12C comes in four colour options – black, blue, green, and purple. The smartphone weighs 192 grams and measures 168.76 × 76.41 × 8.77mm. It has a dedicated micro-SD card slot and offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well. The handset boots MIUI 13, based on Android 12.

The Redmi 12C comes in three configurations – 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 128GB. The smartphone costs RMB 699 (approx Rs 8,500) for 4GB + 64GB variant, RMB 799 (approx Rs 9,700) for 4GB + 128GB variant, and RMB 899 (approx Rs 11,000) for 6GB + 128GB configuration.
