A new POCO smartphone seems to be in works as we have now spotted a POCO device on EEC, the Russian certification website. The new POCO smartphone has model number M2010J19CG as revealed by EEC certification. This is the first time that this POCO device has been spotted on any certification website and going by the model number, it looks like another rebranded Redmi device. To recall, a Redmi device with model number M2010J19SC passed through MIIT certification a couple of weeks back. The device with model number M2010J19SC is expected to be a Redmi Note 10 series device if we go by the leaked information.
As per a claim by Digital Chat Station, M2010J19SC is the model number for Redmi Note 10 4G. Xiaomi is working on multiple Redmi Note 10 series smartphones, and there are rumors that a Redmi Note 10 series will even feature a 108MP camera sensor. As per the leaks, Xiaomi is working on three new Redmi Note devices, Redmi Note 10 4G, Redmi Note 10 5G, and the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G. Out of these, at least one device is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC with 5G connectivity. Xiaomi recently unveiled Mi 10T Lite with Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G, there are even some rumours that the Mi 10T Lite will be rebranded as a Redmi Note 10 series device in China.
If the model numbers are anything to go by, it looks almost certain that POCO is gonna rebrand another Redmi series device. POCO has a history of rebranding Redmi devices since its reboot this year. The company rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro as POCO M2 Pro, and Redmi K30 as POCO X2. Recently, POCO India Director, Anuj Sharma addressed the rebranding issue and also said that the strategy of rebranding phones in POCO’s case is nothing new in the smartphone industry.
