In August this year, Xiaomi shook up the mid-range smartphone segment in India by launching the POCO F1. The first smartphone to be launched by Xiaomi’s POCO sub-brand, POCO F1 offers superior value for money when compared to any other mid-range smartphone on sale in India currently. We have learned that the company is planning to soon launch two new variants of the POCO F1 (review) in India, Europe, as well as a few other markets.
Two new POCO F1 Armored Edition Variants to Arrive Soon
POCO will soon launch new 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variants of the F1 Armored Edition. Currently, the POCO F1 Armored Edition only comes in 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration in most markets. Unlike the regular POCO F1 variants, which are mainly built of polycarbonate, the Armored Edition looks and feels a lot more premium thanks to the Kevlar back. The rest of the body, however, is still made from polycarbonate. There are no other design differences either between the standard POCO F1 variants and the Armored Edition. Needless to say, the upcoming 6GB RAM + 64GB and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variants of the F1 Armored Edition will be priced slightly higher than the equivalent regular F1 variant.
The POCO F1 is currently the most affordable smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor under the hood. POCO has also equipped the smartphone with LiquidCool technology to provide better thermal performance compared to most other smartphones powered by the same chipset. The rest of the smartphone’s key specifications are very impressive as well. It sports a 6.18-inch IPS LCD Full Screen display with 1080 x 2246 Full HD+ resolution and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. There is a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup at the rear with AI scene detection and a host of other AI-powered features. The 20MP AI selfie camera comes with IR Face Unlock support, making it possible for users to easily unlock the smartphone using Face Unlock even under low light. Battery life is another area where the POCO F1 impresses, thanks to a large 4000mAh non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 support.
