The POCO F2 Pro is a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro for the global markets.


Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched its POCO X2 smartphone a little while ago in India. The POCO X2 is essentially a rebadged variant of the Redmi K30 4G variant that was launched in China back in December 2019. That, however, did not stop fans of the POCO brand from asking about the much-awaited POCO F2 smartphone. As it turns out, fans have reason to rejoice (well, sort of), as the company has finally taken the veil off its POCO F2 Pro smartphone in the global market. The POCO F2 Pro is more or less a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 Pro 5G smartphone, which is already available in China. POCO F2 Pro: price and availability

The POCO F2 Pro is available in two memory variants – one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is priced at EUR 499 or around INR 40,740 and one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, which is priced at EUR 599 or around INR 48,800. The device is launched in four color options to choose from – Cyber Grey, Electric Purple, Phantom White, and Neon Blue. The POCO F2 Pro is already up for grabs via Aliexpress, Gearbest, and will soon be available on POCO.net, Lavada, and more online retail stores. Furthermore, the company announced that the POCO F2 Pro would also be sold via offline retailers.

POCO F2 Pro: specifications and features

Starting with the display of the device, the POCO F2 Pro sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 2,400 x 1,080 pixel resolution and a 1200 nit maximum brightness, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. The POCO F2 Pro’s display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The front of the device is almost completely occupied by the display, as the POCO F2 Pro features a pop-up selfie snapper. The device measures 163.3 x 75.4 x 8.9 mm and weighs in at 218 grams.

Speaking of, the POCO F2 Pro boasts a 20MP selfie snapper with 120fps slow motion recording. At the back, the POCO F2 Pro comes with a quadruple rear camera setup, consisting of a 64MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP depth of field lens, and a 5MP macro camera. The POCO F2 Pro can capture 8K videos at 30fps, 4K videos at 60fps, and 960fps videos at 1080p resolution.

Under the hood, the POCO F2 Pro is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, which is coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. On the software side of things, the POCO F2 Pro runs the latest Android 10 OS out of the box with POCO Launcher 2.0 baked on top of it.

Coming to the battery of the device, the POCO F2 Pro features a 4,700mAh battery, which has scope for up to 30W fast charging over a USB Type-C port. Connectivity features of the device include 5G SA/NSA Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax (2.4GHz + 5GHz) MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS (L1 + L5), and NFC.
