- The POCO F4 5G finally gets the latest Android 13 update.
- The new MIUI 14 update also provides the January security patch.
- There is support for Jio 5G as well.

POCO has finally released the Android 13 update for its current flagship smartphone, the F4 5G in India. The F4 5G was launched last year as a premium smartphone under Rs 30,000. The device came with Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. However, despite the latest Android 13 update being available for the longest time, POCO did not release an update for its flagship phone, until today. The new Android 13 update has MIUI 14 on top.
In addition to the new software update, POCO India Country Head Himanshu Tandon also confirmed that the update provides Jio 5G support. Let’s take a look at more details about the new POCO F4 5G Android 13 update released in India.
POCO F4 5G Gets MIUI 14
The POCO F4 5G has finally started getting the new MIUI 14 update in India. The flagship smartphone’s latest update is based on Android 13. The update has version number V14.0.2.0.TLMINXM and provides Jio 5G support on the F4 5G.
Tandon further stated that the update is being rolled out in a phased manner. This means that the update will not be available for all F4 5G users right away. The POCO Country Head revealed that the company is doing so to ensure that the update is stable and does not cause any issues for users. Currently, the first phase of the update is being rolled out to beta users. If there is no critical feedback, POCO will release the Android 13 update for its F-series flagship to all users. This could take a week’s time, according to Tandon.
Several beta users who got the new update uploaded screenshots of the change log. The update is roughly 3.5GB in size. Before installing the new update, we advise taking a backup of your data to ensure it can be restored in case something goes wrong during the installation.
We also suggest having a stable Wi-Fi connection and more than 50 per cent of battery in your F4 5G before installing the new MIUI update. The change log states that the device might overheat or users may experience some performance issues once the new update is installed. This is because the device is adapting to the new update.
The patch notes state that the new Android 13 update improves search in settings. Xiaomi announced MIUI 14 for its devices late last year in China. It now comes with less bloatware and users will also be able to uninstall more apps that come pre-installed on Xiaomi phones. The update also supports large icons, which are also changeable. There is a new Photon engine which provides deeper optimisation support for third-party apps. You can click here to know more about the new MIUI 14 features.
The update is expected to be widely available for all global users. Eligible devices will get the update in the coming weeks.
