POCO F5 Indian Variant Appears on Geekbench, Indian Launch Teased in a Cryptic Social Media Post

POCO is expected to unveil the next iteration of its F-series smartphones – the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro. The POCO F5 series India launch has already been hinted by POCO Country Head Himanshu Tandon. Now, folks at Pricebaba have spotted an upcoming POCO smartphone with the model number 23049PCD8I on the Geekbench benchmark database.

The POCO F5 Geekbench listing confirms the rumours that suggested that the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor. Let us take a closer look at the details.

The POCO F5 Indian variant made an appearance on the Geekbench 5 benchmark database with the model number 23049PCD8I (I represents Indian Variant). The smartphone managed to score 1118 points in the single-core round of the Geekbench 5 test. Whereas, in the multi-core round it grabbed 4236 points.

The listing further reveals the presence of an octa-core processor with the code name marblein. The processor includes a core clocked at 2.92GHz, 3 × cores clocked at 2.50GHz, and 4 × cores clocked at 1.80GHz. This confirms that the POCO F5 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor.

Apart from it, the Geekbench listing for F-series smartphone also confirms support for 8GB of RAM. Also, the smartphone will come pre-loaded with Android 13, but expect it to feature MIUI skin on top. Apart from it, the listing doesn’t reveal anything about the device.

In another development, POCO India Head – Himanshu Tandon has revealed that an upcoming POCO smartphone will launch in only 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB configuration options in the Indian market. This should be the POCO F5 since the company will likely not offer 256GB storage in the base model of a M-series or an X-series smartphone.

In all likelihood, the POCO F5 will be a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo which was launched a couple of months ago in China. To recall, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits peak brightness, and Dolby Vision certification. The smartphone offers a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos audio support.

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo offers a triple-rear camera setup including a 64MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies, it offers a 16MP front shooter. It comes equipped with a 5000mAh battery unit and 67W fast charging support. It packs a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The smartphone packs up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB UFS 3.1 storage.
