UPDATE [April 26 @12:41 PM]: POCO India Country Head, Himanshu Tandon has again teased the launch of POCO F5 in India. He hints that the launch date is in the tweet itself. Most replies suggest that the launch could be May 9 as the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 has these mathematical operations. So 7+2 = 9. Do note that this is just a speculation and not the final launch date.

POCO is confirmed to launch its next flagship phone, POCO F5 soon in India. Company’s Country Head, Himanshu Tandon has been teasing the launch of POCO F5 in the country for the past few days. The phone recently visited the Geekbench certification which confirmed the performance unit of the device.
Now, in the latest development, Snapdragon has officially confirmed the processor of POCO F5 5G. Himanshu has also quoted the same tweet with the message “The most powerful POCO Smartphone ever! Brace yourselves for the all new #POCOF5″ which hints at the launch of the phone in the country.

POCO F5 Processor Confirmed
Snapdragon has confirmed that the POCO F5 will be powered by a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor under the hood. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo also uses the same SoC. Snapdragon also confirmed that the India launch will take place soon.

Compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 will have a 50% increase in overall performance, 13% improved power efficiency and 2 times improved AI performance. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is built on TSMC 4nm fabrication and will have support for Wi-Fi 6.
POCO F5 Specifications
Going by the speculations that the POCO F5 would be a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo in India, it may feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device might also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for security purposes.
The device was recently spotted on Geekbench database with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC and 8GB of RAM. It is also expected to launch with a 12GB RAM option along with 256GB of internal storage. As for the software, the handset will boot Android 13 OS out of the box with MIUI software skin on top.
For the optics, the POCO F5 is expected to sport a triple-camera setup. The camera module is rumoured to include a 64MP primary camera, 8MP secondary lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Selfies and video calls will be handled by a 16MP front shooter. The device is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery unit which could offer 67W fast charging support.

As of now, the launch date of the POCO F5 for the Indian market is yet to be revealed. Previously, it was said that POCO will launch the POCO F5 in India on April 6. However, the launch of the device didn’t take place.
