POCO M2 Sells 1.3 Lakh Units During Its FIrst Sale in India on Flipkart

POCO India has sold 1,30,000 units of the POCO M2 in the very first sale.


POCO India launched the POCO M2 at an event last week in India and went on sale for the first time earlier today. After the sale, POCO India General Manager, C Manmohan took it to twitter to announce that the 130K or 1,30,000 units of POCO M2 were sold today in the very first sale. POCO M2 is the most affordable smartphone with 6GB RAM in India. Other highlights of the smartphone include the gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, quad-rear camera setup,  and a huge 5,000mAh battery.

POCO M2 price in India starts from INR 10,999 for 6GB RAM and 64GB storage options. The higher storage variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage retails for INR 12,499. You can also buy Complete Mobile Protection for the device from Flipkart for INR 699 along with POCO M2. The device retails in three colour variants, Pitch Black, Slate Blue, and Brick Red.

POCO M2 Specifications, and Features

POCO M2 features a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display comes with a waterdrop notch for the selfie shooter. The device sports an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 built on the 8nm process, while the graphics duties are handled by Mali-G52 GPU which is clocked at 950MHz. The smartphone packs up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage with a dedicated Micro-SD card slot.

Coming to the optics, the POCO M2 packs a quad-rear camera setup with a 13MP primary lens that has f/2.2 aperture, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 118.2° field of view and f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP portrait camera with f/2.4 aperture. For the selfies, it packs an 8MP sensor with f/2.5 aperture.

The POCO M2 flaunts a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, that can be charged using the Type-C port. Though, POCO will bundle only a 10W charging adapter with the device. POCO M2 runs Android 10 based MIUI 11 for now, though the company has promised to roll-out MIUI 12 update soon. The company has also announced the next sale date of the POCO M2 which is scheduled for 21st September.
