
POCO M2 is slated to launch in the coming days. Now, days ahead of its September 8 launch, POCO India’s Twitter handle has teased the launch of the upcoming smartphone after officially announcing it yesterday, labelling it as the “most affordable 6GB RAM phone”. The Xiaomi spin-off brand is slated to host a launch event next week, where multiple variants of the smartphone is expected to be launched. It is expected to be a mid-range smartphone, and may come with more than one variant as well – include M2 Lite and M2 Pro.

POCO M2 expected specifications
According to rumours, POCO M2 is expected to be powered by MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, and come with 4GB RAM in its base variant. According to POCO India’s recent tweet, a 6GB RAM variant is also on the cards for the POCO M2, although it is also possible that only the POCO M2 Pro gets the 6GB RAM variant. That said, with the POCO M2 being touted as India’s most affordable 6GB phone, it is possible that the POCO M2 itself will also get a 6GB RAM variant.

Other rumoured specifications of the smartphone include 64GB base internal storage, a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with a bezelless display design and a waterdrop notch to house the front camera. To the rear, it is expected to feature a quad camera setup, with 48MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth sensors. Up front, the notch is said to house a 13MP front camera, which will also enable face unlock, alongside the rear-mounted physical fingerprint scanner.
The standard variant of the M2 is also expected to run on a 5,020mAh battery. It should get a USB-C port for connectivity and charging, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connectivity. POCO will reportedly also include a 3.5mm audio port for wired earphones. The device is set to launch at a rumoured base price of Rs 9,999, and come in three colours – blue, green and black.
