The Poco M3 has seen yet another price hike in the country. After being launched with at least 6GB RAM and two storage choices, Poco hiked its prices but introduced a new, 4GB RAM variant to fill up the demand for the lower price. It is during this time that the Poco M3 4GB variant was introduced at Rs 9,999 in India. Shortly afterward, Poco decided to hike the price of the smartphone by Rs 500 in July, pegging it at Rs 10,499. Now, the company has added to it with yet another Rs 500 price hike.
While an official confirmation of the same is yet to be issued by Poco India, most reports suggest that the new price should reflect on its exclusive retail partner, Flipkart’s website soon. The Poco M3, as a result, will cost Rs 10,999 as its starting price, for the 4GB + 64GB variant. The 6GB + 64GB variant will be priced at Rs 11,999, while the 6GB + 128GB variant is presently priced at Rs 12,999. The move marks the second consecutive price hike since launch for the 4GB variant, and the third price hike for the Poco M3 portfolio as a whole.
The move did not sit well with followers of the brand, who have expressed their displeasure at the frequent price hike of the smartphone via Twitter. However, a chipset crisis coupled with topsy turvy global demands, as the pandemic recedes, have possibly made the market a potentially difficult one to navigate for a company such as Poco. The incremental price hikes still do not take away from the fact that the Poco M3 is one of the most value for money phones, and make for a very interesting overall package, at the least.
The Poco M3 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of storage (the latter available only with 6GB RAM). It features a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with standard, 60Hz refresh rate, and a drop notch at the top housing the front camera. The fingerprint sensor is integrated in the side mounted power button. Talking of cameras, the Poco M3 features a 48MP triple rear camera and an 8MP front camera, both of which are capable of rendering full HD videos. The device is powered by a 6,000mAh battery, with 18W fast charging in tow.
