POCO has finally announced the launch of its latest budget-friendly 5G smartphone, the POCO M3 Pro 5G. This is the first smartphone from POCO in India that comes with 5G support. Apart from this, the phone is also loaded with some interesting features like 48MP rear cameras, a 5,000mAh battery, and more. With this, the POCO latest champ will give stiff competition to the Realme 8 5G and OPPO A53s 5G smartphones. So, the question here is, which one is actually better? In order to clear this doubt, we have put all three smartphones against each other. So, let’s begin.

POCO M3 Pro 5G vs Realme 8 5G vs OPPO A53s 5G: Price in India

POCO M3 Pro 5G India price starts at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option. The 6GB RAM + 128GB model is priced at Rs 15,999. However, as part of a promotion, the company is selling the phone at Rs 13,499 and Rs 15,499 respectively till June 14th. The smartphone is available for purchase from Flipkart. The Realme 8 5G price in India starts at Rs 13,999 for 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The 4GB RAM + 128GB model is priced at Rs 15,999, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB option comes with a price tag of Rs 16,999.

The OPPO A53s 5G price starts at Rs 14,990 for 6GB RAM + 128GB option, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB option comes with a price tag of Rs 16,999. That said, POCO M3 Pro 5G is currently the cheapest 5G smartphone that is available in India, so this round goes to the POCO phone. The OPPO A53s 5G offers the best value-for-money proposition with the same price tag of Rs 14,990.

All three smartphones come with some good design language. The Realme 8 5G features a square-shaped camera module at the back along with a punch-hole design at the front. The phone is available in Supersonic Blue and Supersonic Black colour options. The OPPO A53s 5G comes with a triple-camera setup aligned in a rectangular-shaped camera module. The front panel comes with a waterdrop notch. The handset is available in Crystal Blue and Ink Black colour options. Lastly, we have the POCO M3 Pro 5G. The smartphone stands out with its design at the rear panel. The company has added a rectangular module with POCO branding just beneath it, all of which is placed on a black colour glossy finish. This gives it a premium look and feel.

The POCO M3 Pro 5G packs a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a screen refresh rate of 90Hz, 500nits brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The OPPO A53s 5G features a 6.5-inch HD+ display with up to 480nits brightness, 60Hz refresh rate. Lastly, the Realme 8 5G packs a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with 600 nits brightness and 90Hz refresh rate. That said, the competition is quite close between POCO M3 Pro 5G and Realme 8 5G. However, the latter comes with slightly better 600 nits brightness, which makes it a winner only by a margin.

In terms of performance, all three smartphones pack the entry-level 5G chipset known as MediaTek Dimensity 700. That said, it is Realme that is offering a wider range of models that starts at 4GB + 64GB and goes up to 8GB + 128GB.

In terms of optics, the Realme 8 5G packs a triple-camera setup with a combination of a 48MP primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, 2MP B&W sensor, and 2MP macro lens. For the front, there is a 16MP shooter. The POCO M3 Pro 5G packs a triple-camera setup with a 48MP primary lens with f/1.79 aperture, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro shooter. For the front, there is an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calling. Lastly, the OPPO A53s 5G comes with a triple-camera setup with a 13MP primary lens, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro shooter. For selfies, it sports an 8MP shooter. Although the Realme 8 5G and POCO M3 Pro 5G bear the same camera configuration for the rear camera, the former does better for selfies (at least on papers).

To conclude, the POC M3 Pro 5G gives stiff competition to the Realme 8 5G and overpowers the OPPO A53s 5G. The phone offers a distinctive design language and is currently the cheapest 5G smartphone available in India. That said, the Realme 8 5G offers much better RAM and ROM options and you get a better selfie camera as well. That said, it all boils down to consumer preference. Those who like POCO UI can go with POCO M3 Pro 5G or if you want to try out a new custom UI like Realme UI then you should consider Realm 8 5G instead.
