It has been 2 months since the POCO M3 made its global debut, but it is yet to launch in the Indian market. A recent rumor suggested that the handset will launch in India on January 13th, but POCO India Director had already cleared that the information was inaccurate. The handset was expected to launch in the country, and yesterday, the company, for the first time, officially teased the POCO M3 India launch. POCO India, via social media channels, shared a teaser video with the title ‘Watch at your own risk | #POCOM3’. Let us take a look at the teaser video, but with brains off as POCO India suggests.
The teaser video shows the POCO M3 in Black, Blue, and POCO-signature Yellow color variants, so we can assume that the company will launch all three color variants in India. The company is marketing POCO M3 as an over-performer in the teaser video. To those unaware, the POCO M3 is a rebranded Redmi 9 Power, with a couple of changes, that was launched last month in India.
The POCO M3 carries a strikingly bold design but lacks the ultra-wide-angle lens compared to its Redmi counterpart. The top portion of the rear panel houses the rear camera setup along with POCO branding inside a rectangular block. We can also expect POCO India to offer the POCO M3 with 6GB memory similar to POCO M2.

POCO India takes a Jab at Realme, Once Again!

Redmi, Realme, and POCO launches are incomplete these days without jabs and product comparison with each other. POCO India, with the POCO M3 teaser video, also took an opportunity to take a jab at Realme saying ‘THE real KILLER COMING SOON’.
POCO M3 Features and Specifications
The POCO M3 features a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with a 1080×2340 resolution resulting in a 395ppi pixel density. The handset features a waterdrop notch that houses the front selfie shooter. The display panel features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. POCO M3 is Widevine L1 certified. The rear panel of the smartphone features an anti-fingerprint texture.
Under the hood, the smartphone packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor, fabbed on an 11nm process. The Snapdragon 662, on the POCO M3 gets coupled with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 internal storage. On the software side, the device runs MIUI 12 for POCO, based on Android 10.
Coming to the optics, the POCO M3 offers a 48MP triple-rear camera setup. The 48MP primary sensor on the handset gets accompanied by a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the handset offers an 8MP shooter with an f/2.05 aperture for selfies, and video calls.
The POCO M3 packs a beefy 6,000 mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. It has a USB Type-C charging port, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
